How the file gets onto your phone system

Export the greeting as WAV or MP3 and upload it in the settings of your phone system, cloud PBX or router. Many systems accept these formats directly; some older ones expect a specific format such as 8 kHz mono WAV, and any audio editor converts the file in a minute. Keep greetings short: 15 to 30 seconds is enough for most callers.

Local voices for local businesses

For a practice in Vienna or a shop in Zurich a local voice sounds closer: use the Austrian or Swiss voices of the catalog. Larger phone menus with several options are described on the IVR page.

Tips for phone audio

Say phone numbers digit by digit or in pairs, the way callers write them down, repeat the most important detail (opening hours, emergency number) at the end and avoid music under the voice: phone lines cut the bass, and music makes speech harder to understand.
