Minutes and characters: how to compare
Narakeet charges for the length of the finished audio, HancVoice for the characters of the text. As a rule of thumb, one minute of speech is about 1,000 characters, so 50,000 characters are roughly 50 minutes. Fast speech and short words give a little more, calm narration a little less.
For regular work a plan costs less than packs: Starter gives 120,000 characters a month for €9, about €0.075 a minute. Unused characters do not expire, and the plan renews only if you switch that on at checkout.
Audio or video
If your result is a video built from slides, Narakeet does the whole job, subtitles included. If your result is an audio file that goes into your own video editor, a course platform, a phone system or an audiobook, HancVoice gives you more control over each sentence and costs less per minute at typical volumes.
